Double-hung windows are a type of window that is designed to open and close in two directions. Double-hung windows are more common on the second floor or higher, but can also be found on ground level. Double-hung windows have an upper and lower sash, which are hung by one bottom rail. Double-hung windows provide ventilation by opening both sides at once while keeping the rain out because they have water-tight seals. This newer window style is often both top and bottom panes move up and down, operating independently.

Reinforced frame and sash designs make geometry a statement of style with their low-profile design. Double-hung windows are designed with two sashes that can be opened independently of one another. With sloped-sill windows, there is a risk that the window will sag against the frame during extreme winds and weather. Our proprietary design eliminates any possibility of sagging by aligning sill with window frame; interlocking sash to sill for one solid wall of strength.
